FAQs about hotels in Chicago

Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.

This was my first trip to Chicago and I loved it!

This was my first trip to Chicago and I loved it! It was a clean city and pretty easy to navigate once we figured out the public transit system (which was not hard). My favorite activities were the Architecture Boat Tour and the Art Institute of Chicago. Our favorite restaurant was Russian Tea Time (near the Art Institute). The food was delicious and the prices weren't too bad, but the service was very slow the night we were there. I think there were not enough waiters to cover the crowd. I would love to go back to Chicago when we have more time to spend there.

Beautiful city with lots of interesting architecture,...

Beautiful city with lots of interesting architecture, outstanding food options, lots of cultural inspiration and closeby beaches. Safety has been a major concern before the trip. We did not encounter any issues despite using th famous red subway line daily for a full week. Still, statistics will not lie and you definitely need to watch your steps. In the subway, make sure you are not alone and probably best to be in the first or last car to be able to leave the station fast in case of any issue. Some risk will remain but we walked for kilometers across the whole central town.

There was an issue with the coupon for parking, you all...

There was an issue with the coupon for parking, you all billed my room for the parking and I was supposed to get it for $49.00 that night, instead you did it wrong and I had to pay the $59 at checkout to get my car out of self park. The smoke detector went off all night long. It was just a lot of things that could have been better for the price I paid for that night.

    Chicago is an amazing city.

Chicago is an amazing city. The architecture is stunning ( do a river boat architectural tour), so near to all the sights we want to see- Willis tower, the bean, millennium park. Loads of places to eat and drink and a good walking city. Very friendly and extremely clean and looked after. Just to note we stayed around the loop area.

Chicago is a fabulous city to visit.

Chicago is a fabulous city to visit. The lake is amazing, so beautiful, with sandy beaches and a well-designed walk/cycle track. The people are extremely friendly and helpful to tourists. There is so much to do; I would recommend the gangster tour; it's informative and funny. Chinatown is well worth a visit, as is the aquarium and planetarium. Hire a bike for a cycle along the river coast; absolutely fabulous. Eating out is hit-and-miss and very expensive; however, there are a lot of choices. Shopping is good in the city and transport is excellent. A lot of the skyscrapers have rooftop bars where the trendy people go. Overall my experience in Chicago was fantastic, definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing skyscrapers and architecture! Wow!

Absolutely amazing skyscrapers and architecture! Wow! A must is to take a boat trip on lake Michigan and the canals. Wendella tours offer a 1,5 hour trip with a great guide. Navy Pier and Milennium Park are nice places to see. The Shedd Aquarium was great! Riwer walk, it is very nice to walk along the canal and watch all the buildings. It is easy to just walk around in town. If you want to go more far away there are buses or the elevated train. Michigan avenue (The Magnificent Mile) is very nice with many shops and some restaurants. Good to know is that April is a really cold month and it is always windy. Thick clothes are needed. Try a deep dish pizza at restaurant Uno. But be prepared that it takes 45 minutes to do the pizza. The only thing that we didn't like is that Chicago is very expensive.

Great price for the location. Read reviews before you book it to not be surprised. Room is small but big enough if you're just spending one or two nights in Chicago. It's very clean which is important to me. Had everything we needed. Staff was very helpful and nice. If you're driving there's a parking on the other side of the street. It says $57 for the night but ask staff at the hotel and they'll give you a discount so you'll pay only $30 per night/24 h which is a good deal for downtown Chicago...

Superbly redone roadside motel in downtown Chicago! Rooms were not overly spacious, but very nicely designed, especially clean, and comfortable. Location was 10 minute walk to a couple hotels where friends were staying. We greatly enjoyed the strolls to meet them and wander for shopping and restaurants. Free parking was even included and staff accommodating to allow to park a couple hours for lunch after checking out. A wonderful throwback motel right where you would not expect it.

the location was great & the staff was exceptional. my only complaint would be the rooms were very cramped and the bathroom had almost zero lighting, no fan and a sliding door that was very hard to open and close. It was nothing that made that big of a difference overall. the staff made up for it. the hotel was updated and gorgeous! parking was much cheaper than downtown and only a 20 min drive to the city.

OK so upsides; I was travelling for the marathon and didn't want to break the bank. This place was £550 compared to the places downtown which were nearer £2k. Most of the staff are very friendly and the gym is a plus point. I didn't feel unsafe in the hotel itself which is a bonus travelling alone as a woman. It wasn't too far to the CTA train which was only a short ride into downtown Chicago

If you're like me, transiting from O'Hare to Union station and need to spend the night, this is the sweet spot at the lower end of the nicer hotels downtown. It's cheaper than Hilton, a lot cheaper than the W, but still pretty nice and definitely more expensive than the no-name hotels and hostels. The staff have been fantastic every time I've stayed here!
